Emily's shoot came together with a lot of planning, intention, and coordination.
I first met Emily when she danced barefoot at the beach during my very first Soul Session.
Since then, I’ve watched her business and online presence grow and when she was ready to show up for it visually, she went all in.
Who is VYBE?
(Voice, Yoga, Breathwork, Embodiment)
Emily spent years on tour as a professional singer before stepping into mentoring work.
That performance background is still a huge part of what she brings — playfulness, presence, and the ability to hold space through sound.
After two decades in the industry, she knows what burnout feels like. She also knows how to guide people out of it with the same tools that brought her back to herself: movement, voice, and embodied creativity.
VYBE is Emily’s brand for vocal coaching, voice-led mentoring, creative expression, and helping quietly powerful people find their way back to themselves.
She works with artists, overthinkers, burned-out high achievers — anyone who’s lost touch with their voice or wants to feel more rooted in how they show up.
Her sessions combine vocal work, movement, sound, and stillness. It’s the kind of work that doesn’t just change how you speak or perform, it shifts how you feel in your own body.
What We Set Out to Capture
Emily put in the WORK with this shoot.
Before we even picked up a camera, she worked with my go-to brand designer, Rachael Does Design to get her branding crystal clear.
Colors, fonts, mood, story, it all grew into an aligned foundation on which we built the rest of the shoot.
➝ She booked a full-day hair and makeup artist to come on-site with us.
➝ She bought props and wardrobe pieces that matched her exact brand colors.
➝ She rented out the stunning No Filter Studios for the first location.
➝ Her partner Scott came to capture behind-the-scenes content.
➝ And she and I went back and forth for weeks planning the flow, shotlist, props, and story arc.
This wasn’t a quick headshot session. It was a true collaboration, and she showed up fully for it.
A Quick Look at Her Shotlist
Emily’s visuals were built around how she actually works ➝ grounded, expressive, and real.
We wanted to reflect both her creative presence and the quiet strength behind what she teaches.
Here’s just a glimpse of what we captured:
Mic-in-hand moments, eyes closed in stillness
Sage smoke curling in the sunlight
Laughing over coffee and reading her novel draft
Teaching diaphragm work and vocal technique
Gentle movement and seated yoga poses
Barefoot dancing in soft light
Reflections by the water wrapped in a neutral shawl
She brought props that meant something.
Her singing bowl. Crystals. Branded bookmarks. Her yoga mat. Everything had a place in the story.
Why We Chose No Filter Studios for a Vocal Coach
The studio gave us the calm, neutral space we needed to start strong.
There’s a softness to the light at No Filter that feels really aligned with brands like VYBE — intuitive, quiet, powerful.
The textures are clean without being cold. The light moves beautifully throughout the day. And it gave Emily space to move freely while staying grounded in the energy of her brand.
Plus, her brand designer Rachael came along to support, cheerlead, and help make sure every visual aligned with the overall brand identity. The best kind of creative team energy.
West Kirby Marine Lake (and a Bit of Windy Improvisation)
After the studio, we headed to the lake. The sun was gorgeous, but the wind definitely had its own ideas.
That said, we rolled with it — layering up, reworking a few of the original plans, and capturing the kind of windswept, serene, water-side moments that worked even better than what we imagined.
The lake brought a different kind of energy to the shoot. Spacious. Reflective. A little wild, in the best way.
How Emily Can Help You
If you’ve felt stuck, creatively shut down, or like your voice isn’t fully yours anymore, Emily’s work can help you get back to yourself.
She offers voice mentoring, embodied movement sessions, and creative performance coaching for humans who are ready to reconnect.
Her website is in the works (and this shoot played a big role in building it), but you can reach her directly through instagram.
Final Thoughts
Emily, you put your whole heart into this and you should be so proud!
You showed up prepared, intentional, and fully committed to creating a visual brand that matches the depth of your work. It was such a joy to witness.
If you’re reading this and thinking, “I want a shoot like that” — you can have one.
But it’s built on more than outfits and a Pinterest board.
It’s built through collaboration, planning, and a clear vision. And when all of that comes together, it's absolutely MAGICAL!
